Everything in View

Last week, I went to Pilot Rock with some friends for a day hike. Pilot Rock is more of a scramble though, with some excellent bouldering. The last 100ft require a few technical holds, but nothing too dangerous. The summit offers extensive views of Mt. Ashland, Mt. Shasta, and Mt. Mcloughlin.
For extensive views of the cascades, climb Pilot Rock. The trail is just off the PCT, on BLM land. Take I-5 exit 6, and continue past the Mt. Ashland turn off until you see a BLM sign on your left marked "Pilot Rock."

The Climb - a 100 ft scramble takes you to the summit

At the summit, an excellent view of the Shasta Basin
